April 29: Iowa has fully vaccinated over 1 million people

Every day at 10 a.m. we take the previous day’s numbers from 10 a.m. and subtract them with the current numbers from the state at 10 a.m. Rather than reporting a day behind, we wish to give you the most updated information. For Black Hawk and Linn Counties, we are reporting numbers from their county COVID-19 websites. For Johnson and Dubuque counties, we are reporting numbers from the state’s website.

(KWWL) — There were 474 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday, according to the state’s dashboard, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 364,403.

The state’s website says that of the 364,403 people who have tested positive, 346,608 have recovered. This is 631 more recoveries than what the state reported Wednesday.

The state is reporting 1 additional COVID-19 death, with a death toll of 5,931.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (346,608) and the number of deaths (5,931) from the total number of cases (364,403) shows there are currently 11,864 active positive cases in the state.

As of Thursday morning, there were 37 patients hospitalized in Iowa within the last 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 184, which is the same as Wednesday. Of those, 44 are in the ICU (up from 37), and 25 are on ventilators (up from 24).

In Iowa, there were 2,679 people tested in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,707,371 people have been tested for COVID-19.

As of Thursday morning, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard, 2,197,171 total doses have been administered to Iowa residents and 1,021,095 individuals have completed the series. BLACK HAWK COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Thursday, the Black Hawk COVID-19 dashboard is showing 11 new cases since 10 a.m. Wednesday, leaving a total of 16,795 cases. There have been 10 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 15,029. There has been one additional death, leaving a total of 307 deaths. In Black Hawk County, 42,570 residents have been fully vaccinated.

LINN COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Thursday, the Linn County COVID-19 dashboard is showing 30 new cases since 10 a.m. Wednesday, leaving a total of 20,597 cases. There have been 20 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 19,018 recoveries. There have been no additional deaths, leaving a total of 341 deaths in the county. There are currently 7 patients hospitalized in the county. In Linn County, 76,277 residents have been fully vaccinated.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Thursday, there are 25 new positive cases reported in Johnson County since 10 a.m. Wednesday. This brings the total to 14,315 reported cases. There have been a total of 13,486 recoveries, which is 33 more reported than yesterday. There were no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 83. In Johnson County, 59,022 residents have been fully vaccinated.

DUBUQUE COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Thursday, there were 10 additional positive cases reported in Dubuque County since 10 a.m. Wednesday. This brings the total to 13,271 reported cases. There have been 25 additional recoveries reported, leaving a total of 12,560. There were no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 206. In Dubuque County, 37,023 residents have been fully vaccinated.
