IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWWL) - Johnson County Supervisor Janelle Rettig announced her resignation from the Board of Supervisors Sunday afternoon over social media. Rettig cited her health and wellbeing as reasons for resigning.
Rettig was appointed to the board in 2009 and won four elections during her time as an elected official.
"I knew this wouldn't be a life-long role for me," Rettig said over Facebook. "I believe people serving in policy making positions should come in to make a difference, work hard and then move on."
