WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) -- A prominent leader in the Cedar Valley community has died.

Sue Armbrecht was the regional president for Midwest One bank. She was heavily involved with Grow Cedar Valley, serving on the Finance Committee, Executive Committee, and the Board.

Armbrecht was known for her service on numerous boards, including as Board Chair of Greater Cedar Valley Alliance & Chamber (now Grow Cedar Valley). Her service with them earned her the 2018 Fulfilling the Vision of One Award.

Armbrecht was also a member of the YWCA Board, a member of the Waterloo Rotary, and served on the finance committee and Board of Directors for the Cedar Valley United Way.

"Cedar Valley United Way was so fortunate to have Sue on both the Finance committee and Board of Directors.  She always gave great advice and a joy to work with."

"My family and the Cedar Valley lost a very dear friend today with Sue Armbrecht’s passing. Sue was a cheerleader for the Cedar Valley and was an unstoppable force for the things she believed.  Her goal was to make the Cedar Valley a better place to live, work and raise a family.  Her honesty and integrity never waivered. Sue was a friend and mentor to all.  She will be greatly missed by SO many!  RIP Sue!  You are now a bright and shining star in the Cedar Valley!"
