April 13: Over 780,000 vaccine completions in Iowa

Every day at 10 a.m. we take the previous day’s numbers from 10 a.m. and subtract them with the current numbers from the state at 10 a.m. Rather than reporting a day behind, we wish to give you the most updated information. For Black Hawk and Linn Counties, we are reporting numbers from their county COVID-19 websites. For Johnson and Dubuque counties, we are reporting numbers from the state’s website.

IOWA

(KWWL) — There were 445 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the state’s dashboard, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 357,484.

The state’s website says that of the 357,484 people who have tested positive, 338,584 have recovered. This is 616 more recoveries than what the state reported Monday.

The state is reporting 0 additional COVID-19 death, with a death toll of 5,857.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (338,584) and the number of deaths (5,857) from the total number of cases (357,484) shows there are currently 13,043 active positive cases in the state.

As of Tuesday morning, there were 31 patients hospitalized in Iowa within the last 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 220, the same as the day before. Of those, 56 are in the ICU (up from 55), and 20 are on ventilators (down from 21).

In Iowa, there were 2,298 people tested in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,668,910 people have been tested for COVID-19.

As of Tuesday morning, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard, 1,806,921 total doses have been administered to Iowa residents and 781,224 individuals have completed the series. BLACK HAWK COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Black Hawk COVID-19 dashboard is showing 15 new cases since 10 a.m. Monday, leaving a total of 16,573 cases. There have been 11 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 14,801. There have been no additional deaths, leaving a total of 306 deaths. In Black Hawk County, 33,223 residents have been fully vaccinated.

LINN COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Linn County COVID-19 dashboard is showing 22 new cases since 10 a.m. Monday, leaving a total of 20,202 cases. There have been 27 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 18,716 recoveries. There has been one additional death, leaving a total of 339 deaths in the county. There are currently 7 patients currently hospitalized in the county. In Linn County, 55,902 residents have been fully vaccinated.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Tuesday, there are 26 new positive cases reported in Johnson County since 10 a.m. Monday. This brings the total to 13,897 reported cases. There have been a total of 13,179 recoveries, 19 more reported than yesterday. There were no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 80. In Johnson County, 43,557 residents have been fully vaccinated.

DUBUQUE COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Tuesday, there were 17 additional positive cases reported in Dubuque County since 10 a.m. Monday. This brings the total to 13,050 reported cases. There have been 4 additional recoveries reported, leaving a total of 12,310. There were no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 202. In Dubuque County, 27,792 residents have been fully vaccinated.
