IOWA CITY(KWWL)--Xavior Williams has graduated and left UNI last fall after the Missouri Valley Conference decided to move its football to the Spring.

Williams joined the Iowa Hawkeyes over the Christmas break.

Xavior Williams is a versatile defensive back who can player either cornerback or safety.

Williams will be joining an Iowa defense that returns its secondary intact from last fall.

Hawkeye defensive coordinator Phil Parker says there is always room for a talented player like Xavior Williams.

Iowa Defensive Coordinator Phil Parker, "Good player anytime you get a good player come into your program its good I think he fits in we with us we will probably play him at corner. With him he will have to understand a little bit what our terminology is and wht we do in our scheme compared to what he is used to and I know he has played both positions at Northern Iowa but right now I think he will be more of a corner for us. Very excited well put together, good footwork--smart kid already has his degree and going for another one."

Iowa concludes Spring practices on May 1st.
