More than 600 students in Iowa City quarantined due to COVID-19 exposure

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWWL) -- In the Iowa City Community School District, 127 students are currently dealing with a positive case, both confirmed and presumptive positive case.

This prompted 666 students to quarantine for possible expsoure and 11 classrooms have closed.

Nearly 100 students are in quarantine from City High School while the school with the largest concentration of qurantined students, 253, is Northwest Junior High School.

City High School has the most positive cases at 18. Only .85% of the district's entire student population is dealing with a case of COVID-19.

Five staff members have a case of COVID-19 and 16 are quarantining.
