Waterloo Schools give details on high school graduations

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) -- Waterloo Schools is providing some details on the upcoming in-person graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2021.

Graduation ceremonies for East and West will be held at Young Arena, 125 Commercial St., Waterloo) while the graduation for Expo will be held at Expo High School.

  • Expo graduation: Expo High School on Monday, May 24 at 6 p.m.
  • Waterloo West graduation: Young Arena on Tuesday, May 25 at 6 p.m.
  • Waterloo East graduation: Young Arena on Thursday, May 27 at 6 p.m.

Each graduate will be given four wristbands for guests, who will all be asked to sit together and socially distance from other groups.

Waterloo Schools is asking students that don't need all four wristbands to return unused ones to their school's office. These additional wristbands will be redistributed through a lottery drawing.

Waterloo Schools is also reminding graduates from East and West that while the ice at Young Arena will be covered, temperatures may be cooler.

The ceremonies will be livestreamed on the district's Facebook page.
