IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWWL) -- New data from the Iowa City Community School District's COVID-19 dashboard reports an updated total of 352 students currently quarantining due to exposure of COVID-19.
Out of those 352 students quarantining, 160 students attend Northwest Junior High. In total, 2.37% of the student body is quarantining.
Over a week ago, KWWL reported that at least 315 students were in quarantine and 117 of those students belonged to Northwest.
Those Northwest numbers have now jumped by 43, and the school has also reported that 10 students have tested positive for COVID-19.
As of today, the school district is reporting 67 positive COVID-19 cases. There have been 1,095 total since August.
In addition to Northwest, the following six schools have more than ten students currently in quarantine:
- Alexander ES - 16 students quarantined
- Liberty HS - 31 students quarantined
- Longfellow - 31 students quarantined
- Penn ES - 40 students quarantined
- South East JH - 16 students quarantined
- Weber ES -30 students quarantined
