Cedar Rapids schools planning in-person high school graduations

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Administrators in the Cedar Rapids Community School District are planning in-person high school graduations for this spring.
The district says those celebrations will be held at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse and the Doubletree Convention Center downtown. Graduates and their guests will be required to wear masks and social distance from each other. Seating capacity will also be limited.
CRCSD held all virtual graduations last year.
The ceremonies for Kennedy, Washington and Jefferson high schools will all be held at the Alliant PowerHouse; Kennedy on May 27, Washington on May 28 and Jefferson on May 29. Metro High School will have its graduation at the Doubletree Convention Center on May 29.
Specific details about each ceremony will be communicated by individual schools soon. It's not clear yet how many guests each graduate will be allowed.
