Feb. 22: In Iowa, more than 145,000 Iowans have completed both vaccinations

(KWWL) — There were 189 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Sunday to 10 a.m. Monday, according to the state’s dashboard, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 332,762.

The state’s website says that of the 332,762 people who have tested positive, 309,569 have recovered. This is 404 more recoveries than what the state reported Saturday.

The state’s death toll is 5,374, which is 38 more than reported yesterday.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (309,569) and the number of deaths (5,374) from the total number of cases (332,762) shows there are currently 17,819 active positive cases in the state.

As of Sunday morning, there were 22 patients hospitalized in Iowa within the last 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 222, a decrease from 229 hospitalized the day before. Of those, 54 are in the ICU (down from 58), and 25 are on ventilators (down from 27).

In Iowa, there were 1,136 new tests given in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,539,605 people have been tested for COVID-19.

According to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard, 563,487 total doses have been administered to Iowa residents and 146,050 individuals have completed the series, which is 2,384 more than Sunday. As of Monday, 4,714 Black Hawk County residents, 10,565 Linn County residents, 12,338 Johnson County residents, and 5,740 Dubuque County residents have completed the vaccine series. BLACK HAWK COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Monday, the Black Hawk COVID-19 dashboard is showing 16 new cases since 10 a.m. Saturday, leaving a total of 15,773 cases (14,778 PCR & Antigen positive cases and 995 Serology positive cases). There have been 15 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 13,846. There have been no additional deaths, leaving a total of 284 deaths.

LINN COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Monday, the Linn County COVID-19 dashboard is showing 40 new cases since 10 a.m. Sunday, leaving a total of 19,270 cases. There have been 60 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 17,331 recoveries. There have been no additional deaths, leaving a total of 320 deaths in the county. There are 17 patients currently hospitalized in the county.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Monday, there are 9 new positive cases reported in Johnson County since 10 a.m. Sunday. This brings the total to 12,947 reported cases. There have been a total of 12,236 recoveries, 21 more reported than yesterday. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 72.

DUBUQUE COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Monday, there have been 7 additional positive cases reported in Dubuque County since 10 a.m. Sunday. This brings the total to 12,240 reported cases. There have been 14 additional recoveries reported, leaving a total of 11,495. There was one additional death reported, leaving a total of 192.
