LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) -- Starting today, Linn County LIFTS will be providing transportation assistance for those who need help with scheduling and confirming COVID-19 vaccinations appointments.
The program is open to anyone traveling to or from a Linn County vaccine provider. It is also open to anyone assisting someone getting a vaccine.
The Linn County Board of Supervisors wants everyone who participates in the LIFTs program to remember the services are only for those who have already scheduled and confirmed their appointment.
Requests for transportation must be made at least 24 hours in advance and can be made up to two weeks in advance.
To make a request, call LIFTS at 319-892-5170, or you can email them at email@example.com. Their hours are 8 a.m. till 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Transportation is only offered to or from locations within Linn County to designated vaccination sites between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. No rides are available on Sundays.
