One lucky Cedar Falls reading teacher wins ‘Tools for Schools’ award

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KWWL) - Today we have another 'Tools For Schools' winner!

Her name is Tammy Bronemann and she is a reading teacher for Aldrich Elementary School in Cedar Falls.

Having to revert to virtual learning last year, she noticed students were behind on their reading skills as they returned to school.

Therefore, to try and get her kids on track, she will be using her money to buys phonics chip kits, to help her students learn reading patterns fluently.

Knowing it last year was hard for her students, Bronemann hopes these sound chips can give them the extra help they need.

"So our first graders definitely came in with some deficits that we haven't always seen in the past," Bronemann, "we are anxious to fill in those holes and help them build those relationships and catch up back to where they need to be."

The 'Cedar Valley Tools For Schools' Program is a partnership between KWWL and Green State Credit Union.
