WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) -- The Magical Mix Kids Charity Auction is about to return.
It's been an annual staple of the Cedar Valley for 22 years, with Re/Max Home Group as the presenting sponsor, along with Cedar Valley radio station, 93.5, The Mix.
The 2021 version will be different.
For the first time, due to the pandemic, the huge fundraiser will be held virtually, as an online auction for seven days.
It will begin on Monday, February 8 and conclude on Sunday, February 14.
The virtual auction will make sure the ‘Magic’ stays alive to help Cedar Valley children and their families.
You can view all of the great auction items. and submit your bids online simply by going to www.mmk2021.com
While this popular annual event usually attracts a crowd of more than 500, the critical mission remains the same, even without the in-person event.
The online fundraiser will raise money to send chronic and terminally ill Cedar Valley area children and their families on the trip of a lifetime to Disney World in Florida later this year.
The annual event is the most important fundraiser of the year for the Magical Mix Kids non-profit organization, says Jim Coloff, founder of the Magical Mix Kids, and owner of radio station, 93.5 The Mix.
Coloff says, “It’s not easy raising money and it’s not easy putting these things on, but when you think about the kids and you think about them meeting Mickey Mouse for the first time, that last the whole year through and even more,”
