Waterloo police say they are not responsible for towed cars

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) -- The police department is reminding people that the city's street department issues snow emergencies and officers are not responsible for cars that get towed.

"If your vehicle was towed because of the snow emergency and you have an issue, please do not contact the police department," they wrote on their Facebook page.

Instead, the police department encouraged people needing information to call the street department at 319-291-4267 or visit: https://cityofwaterlooiowa.com/departments/street_department/index.php.

Police said they are busy responding to other calls and they cannot help with snow emergency problems.

"Please drive and stay safe," they said.
