Today: Travel is going to be extremely difficult, especially near and south of Highway 20 where several inches of snow fell overnight. Roads will be snow covered. Light to moderate snow will continue through the morning hours, before wrapping up by noon. An additional dusting to 3” will be possible. Temperatures will not move much (low 20s) with a northeast wind 10-20 mph.
Tonight: After partial clearing earlier in the evening, it becomes mostly cloudy once again. North wind 5-10 mph with overnight lows in the single digits.
Wednesday: A weak disturbance moves through southern Iowa, bringing the potential of light snow and flurries to our southern counties. No accumulation expected. Otherwise, expect a mostly cloudy to partly cloudy sky and temperatures in the teens.
Wednesday night: High pressure settles in leading to a clear sky and light wind. With fresh snow on the ground, temperatures plummet below zero.
This Weekend: You’ll want to pay attention to this time period. A strong storm is forecast to move through the Midwest bringing a wintry mix and snow.
