Thursday: The rain/snow mix continues during the morning. Temperatures warm into the mid and upper 30s. The temperatures drop during the afternoon into the low 30s changing the mix to light snow. Any snow accumulation will be around 1” by evening. This could cause slick roads so allow extra travel time. The wind is strong with gusts to 30 mph from the west. This will cause some visibility issues during the afternoon and evening as the snow falls.
Thursday Night: Scattered light snow showers continue into the night as temperatures drop into the mid-20s. The wind backs off just a little bit but is breezy with gusts to 25 mph from the northwest. Any snow accumulation will be near 1” or less.
Friday: Light snow is expected during the day and eventually tapers off by evening. Storm totals are 2-4” for all of eastern Iowa. Southern counties are more likely closer to 2" while northern counties are closer to 4". Isolated 5” amounts are possible and if they do occur the favored locations could be north of Highway 20. The wind is still breezy from the north at 10-20 mph. High temperatures warm to near 30.
