PALO, Iowa (KWWL) — A Linn County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a maroon colored Chrysler PT Cruiser for speeding just south of Palo on Oct. 18 around 1:09 a.m.
The vehicle failed to stop after the deputy signaled his emergency lights. The vehicle then drove into a ditch and got hung up. The driver proceeded to run, but was quickly caught.
The incident was over at 1:11 a.m. The driver was identified as 36-year-old Randy Michael Thompson of Cedar Rapids.
Thompson was charged with speeding, attempting to elude, and possession of a controlled substance. No injuries or damage was reported.
