(KWWL) -- In a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, Joe Biden maintains his lead over President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential race.
The poll, conducted prior to the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, shows Biden ahead by 7 points. He leads Trump 53 to 41.
Approval for the president bounced back by about two points to 45 while his disapproval rating was at 53 points.
As is typical with the NBC/WSJ poll, 1,000 Americans were polled. Interest in the election continues to climb.
The president has more supporters who responded that they were "enthusiastic" about him than those supporting Biden. However, those who responded that President Trump made them "uncomfortable" were nearly double than those identifying as enthusiastic.
