Iowa City schools transitioning to hybrid learning model

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWWL) — The Iowa City Community School District will officially move to a hybrid learning model on Monday, Sept. 28 due to the decreasing positivity rate of COVID-19 in Johnson County.

According to the school district's update, this only applies to students who opted for standard enrollment. Students who have enrolled in the ICCSD PK-12 Online Learning Program will not be affected.

ICCSD has also been granted permission to begin in-person athletics and activities starting on Saturday, Sept. 26. Events can have a limited number of spectators that are required to follow previous event attendance guidelines.

The school district will also provide free meals for students enrolled in both the hybrid learning model and the ICCSD PK-12 Online Learning Program through December.
