Dubuque Hempstead topples Cedar Falls at the UNI Dome

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KWWL) - Dubuque Hempstead and Cedar Falls enter the game with a record of 2-1.

Cedar Falls homecoming tonight made it another important game for the Tigers. Tigers lost last week on the road against Cedar Rapids Prairie.

Cedar Falls settled for a field goal first drive, after the Mustangs played solid defense.

The field goal would be followed with a Mustang drive into the end zone from Quarterback Aidan Dunne. Mustangs on top, 7-3.

Tigers possession, Hunter Jacobson with a jump pass to Ryan Ostrich for a running back screen. Ostrich leads his Tigers to a 50-Plus reception for a touchdown. Tigers respond, 10-7.

Aidan Dunne would continue to offensive push with another scramble in the pocket until he finds Jackson Ostrander for six points. Hempstead jumps to the lead, 14-10.

Tigers would round out the first half with a field goal. Halftime score, Mustangs on top, 14-13.

Tigers and Mustangs would keep this score until the final minutes of the game, but Cedar Falls can't hold on.

Dubuque Hempstead wins on the road at the UNI Dome, 20-13.

Cedar Falls at Iowa City and Dubuque Hempstead at Cedar Rapids Kennedy next week.
