National Black Voter Day events to be held across Iowa on Friday

(KWWL) -- Events to increase voter awareness and knowledge in the Black Community will be held in several cities in the KWWL viewing area on Friday.

National Black Voter Day events will be held in Waterloo, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.

The event in Cedar Rapids will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at The African American Museum of Iowa, located at 55 12th Ave. SE.

The event in Waterloo will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the African American Cultural Center located at 1320 E. 4th St.

The event in Iowa City will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dream City located at 611 Southgate Ave.

Participants at the Iowa City event are asked to bring a mask/face covering or one will be provided. Social distancing guidelines will be practiced.

Events are also being held in Muscatine, Davenport, Fort Dodge, Des Moines, Sioux City, and Council Bluffs.
