Sept. 15: Iowa passes 75,000 COVID-19 cases with the state reporting 508 new cases, 12 more deaths

Every day at 10 a.m. we take the previous day's numbers from 10 a.m. and subtract them with the current numbers from the state at 10 a.m. Rather than reporting a day behind, we wish to give you the most updated information. For Black Hawk and Linn Counties we are reporting numbers from their county COVID-19 websites. For Johnson and Dubuque counties we are reporting numbers from the state's website.

IOWA

(KWWL) — There were 508 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the state's dashboard, which brings the state's total number of cases to 75,275.

The state's website says that of the 75,275 people who have tested positive, 54,257 have recovered. This is 938 more recoveries than what the state reported Monday.

The number of current positive cases in the state is 21,018.

12 more deaths were reported within this time frame, leaving the state's death toll at 1,233.

There were 36 patients hospitalized in Iowa within the last 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 284, up from 272. Of those hospitalizations, 74 are in the ICU and 29 are on ventilators.

In Iowa, 3,504 new tests were given for a total of 707,186 people that have been tested for COVID-19.

BLACK HAWK COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Black Hawk COVID-19 dashboard is showing data from 10 a.m. Monday. There are 10 more positive cases for a total of 4,610 reported cases in the county. There were six more recoveries, leaving a total of 3,254. There was one additional death, leaving a total of 82 deaths. The 14-day average positivity rate for the county is 8.2 percent.

LINN COUNTY

According to the Linn County COVID-19 dashboard at 10 a.m. Tuesday there were 60 more positive cases for a total of 3,574 reported cases since 10 a.m. Monday. There have been 63 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 3,035. There was one additional death, leaving a total of 101 deaths. There are 10 current hospitalizations in the county. The 14-day average positivity rate for the county is 8.1 percent.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According to the state's dashboard at 10 a.m. Tuesday, there are 37 new positive cases reported in Johnson County since 10 a.m. Monday. This brings the total to 4,854 reported cases. There has been a total of 2,298 recoveries, which is 88 more than yesterday. A total of 36,498 have been tested. There was one additional death, leaving the total at 27 deaths. The 14-day average positivity rate for the county is 11.5 percent.

DUBUQUE COUNTY

According to the state's dashboard at 10 a.m. Tuesday, there are 23 new positive cases reported in Dubuque County since 10 a.m. Monday. This brings the total to 2,418 reported cases. There are 23 more recoveries reported for a total of 1,815. A total of 26,680 people have been tested. There was one additional death, leaving a total of 38 deaths. The 14-day average positivity rate for the county is 11.8 percent.
