CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) - A free and fast internet cafe opened in the Cedar Rapids Newbo area today at Brewhemia.
The owner of Brewhemia and the executive directors of Newbo-Co, ImOn and the Olympic Venue came together to provide this space.
With many people working from home, some without internet, and many places closed for indoor seating, this space is needed in the community.
There are around 23 tables available with seating up to 120 people. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.
"There are still some customers without internet at home or they are stuck at home because they can't go into work and they need just a different situation," Anna Hobard, Venue Manager of The Olympic South Side Theater, said. "Like I have a dog, he does not like it when I'm on the phone, so having another space to go to, is, I think, really needed right now."
With the fall season quickly approaching, many will be looking for an indoor space to hold meetings.
The venue plans to continue this service through the end of the year.
