CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KWWL) -- At Monday's Board of Education meeting, a spokeswoman for the Cedar Falls Community School District offered details to the school's reporting policies.
"We have less than five cases in the district and when you say that, it's pretty easy to determine possibly who that person is," Janelle Darst, the communications director for the district, said.
Darst went on to note that they're trying to be very cautious of a person's privacy in not releasing their positive cases through a dashboard like other schools in the county.
The Black Hawk County Health Department advises school districts to not release data at this time, citing that the state hasn't offered any guidance for releasing positive case numbers within schools.
Guidance from the state on such a matter has been requested by the health department.
"Until the guidance is received from IDPH, BHCHD has recommended that districts not release school data, and as such the health department will also not be releasing school data at this time. Once guidance is received the health department will review the guidance with districts, and determine the best way to proceed with reporting according to the guidance."Nafissa Cisse Egbuonye, Black Hawk Co.
