Gov. Reynolds reopening Small Business Relief Program for bars closed in 6 counties

JOHNSTON, Iowa (KWWL) - During Wednesday's news conference, Governor Reynolds announced that she will be reopening the Small Business Relief fund for bars and taverns closed in 6 Iowa counties.

Last week, Reynolds announced that bars in Black Hawk, Linn, Dallas, Johnson, Story, and Polk must close until September 20 to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Businesses ordered to close in those counties are eligible for a one-time, $10,000 grant to assist with cashflow.

The program though the Iowa Economic Development Authority and applications will be accepted in two weeks.

Reynolds says they expect to get it up and going by the start of next week.
