CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KWWL) - Cedar Falls police are investigating a plastic skull left on the lawn of a local Republican party committee member.

The skull was covered in black marker with threatening expletives and anti-GOP phrases.

"I just felt like it was a personal attack on me," Black Hawk County Republican Party Secretary, Anita Keve said.

The skull was found by a neighbor and notified Keve where it was. The skull was sitting next to the many political campaign signs in her yard ahead of the coming elections.

"They wrote, "I hope you die before you can vote," and "187,000 deaths on Trump," or something like that," Keve said.

Keve saying the skull was "disturbing and unsettling" to see, but doesn't anticipate a crime to occur.

Keve did not have security cameras up during the time of the incident, and does not plan to press charges due to lack of evidence.

Cedar Falls Police are following up with increased patrols in the area.

Trump-Pence political signs have already been stolen from Keve's yard this year.
