Iowa City updates road reopenings/closures amid storm clean-up; 10,000 still without power

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWWL) - The City of Iowa City has released updates on road reopenings and continuing closures amid the clean-up from Monday's storms.

Court Street between Third and Fourth avenues, Rochester between First and Seventh avenues, and Muscatine between Second and Third avenues have reopened.

However, several major roads are still blocked:

  • Muscatine Avenue closed between Dearborn Street and Seventh Avenue
  • Summit Street closed between Court and Bowery streets
  • Dodge Street closed between Burlington and Bowery streets

MidAmerican has restored power to many in the city, but at least 10,000 are still without power. The city says those customers should plan for multiple days without power.
