WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) - While you may not be able to experience the full festivities of Irish Fest in Downtown Waterloo this year, a virtual version of the event will be happening this weekend.
The original event that was set for July 31 - Aug. 2 was canceled due to the coronavirus back in late June.
The 'virtual' event will be online only at iowairishfest.com and will feature several updates over the course of Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
According to a Facebook post from Iowa Irish Fest the virtual lineup will consist of:
- Friday, July 31st - a look back at the 2019 fest bands.
- Saturday, August 1st - New videos and messages from the bands you would have seen in 2020, and most likely will see in 2021.
- Sunday, August 2nd - More new videos and a Sunday message for mass.
Iowa Irish Fest may announce more daily events and updates on their Facebook page throughout the weekend.
The Virtual Irish Fest will also be co-hosted by Irish Music Magazine, who provide a live stream of the event all weekend long on their Facebook page.
