LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) -- A former female Four Oaks youth counselor is facing several charges for having a relationship with a 14-year-old resident, according to court documents.
Danielle Hook, 29, of Marion was arrested in late June after an investigation by law enforcement, the Department Of Human Services, and juvenile court services.
According to court documents, the investigation revealed Hook had engaged in a sexual relationship with a then 14-year-old male patient who was a resident at the facility.
After Hook was discharged from her employments, it was discovered the child was residing with Hook while he was on the run from juvenile authorities.
The relationship happened around January of 2019.
The investigation also revealed Hook gave birth as a result of her sexual relationship with the boy, it was confirmed by a DNA test.
Hook is being charged with third degree sexual abuse, sexual exploitation by a counselor, and harboring a runaway.
During an initial appearance Hook's bond was set to $15,000. She was bonded out on July 13th.
Hook has a promise to appear scheduled on August 10th.
