WATERLOO (KWWL) -- One day after pounding out 20 runs in a win over Mankato the Waterloo Bucks' bats fell silent. Waterloo managed only one run in a 2-1 loss to the Willmar Stingers. The win puts Willmar a game ahead of the Bucks in the Minnesota-Iowa pod standings.
Waterloo broke up a scoreless tie in the fourth inning as Patrick Ferguson launched his league-leading third home run over the fence for a 1-0 lead. That turned out to be the only run the Bucks put on the scoreboard.
The 1-0 lead looked like it might hold up until Willmar's Kyle Manzardo knocked a 2-out, eighth inning solo shot over the wall in right that eventually knotted the game at two-apiece. Later, Gavin Gorrell's sacrifice fly knocked in the eventual game-winning run in the top of the 10th inning.
