July 11: 743 cases, 331 recoveries, and six deaths

EDITOR'S NOTE: The daily numbers that we report do not line up with the numbers the state is reporting for each day. Every day at 10 a.m. we take the previous day's numbers from 10 a.m. and subtract them with the current numbers from the state at 10 a.m. Rather than reporting a day behind, we wish to give you the most updated information. For Black Hawk and Linn Counties we are reporting numbers from their county COVID-19 websites. For Johnson and Dubuque counties we are reporting numbers from the state's website.

IOWA

(KWWL) — There were 743 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday, according to the state's dashboard, which brings the state's total number of cases to 34,499.

The state's website says that of the 33,499 people who have tested positive, 26,081 have recovered. This is 331 more recoveries than what the state reported Friday.

Six additional deaths were reported within this time frame, leaving the state's death toll at 748.

There were 23 patients hospitalized in Iowa within the last 24 hours, compared to 19 yesterday. The total number of hospitalizations is 178, which is nine more than yesterday. Of those hospitalizations, 56 are in the ICU and 25 are on ventilators.

In Iowa, 6,570 new tests were given for a total of more than 367,822 that have been tested for COVID-19.

BLACK HAWK COUNTY

According to the Black Hawk County COVID-19 dashboard at 10 a.m. Saturday, there are 44 new positive cases reported in the county for a total of 3,041 reported cases. There no additional recoveries, leaving the total at 1,886. One additional death was reported in the county for a total of 59 deaths.

LINN COUNTY

According to the Linn County COVID-19 dashboard at 10 a.m. Saturday, there are 12 new positive cases reported in the county for a total of 1,391 reported cases. There are 15 new recoveries for a total of 1,178. There have been no additional COVID-19 related deaths in the county, leaving it at a total of 83 deaths and three more hospitalizations for a total of 10 current hospitalizations.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According to the state's dashboard at 10 a.m. Saturday, there are 33 new positive cases reported in Johnson County, for a total of 1,425 reported cases. There are 8 more recoveries reported for a total of 847. A total of 18,091 have been tested. There have been no additional COVID-19 related deaths in the county, for a total of 8.

DUBUQUE COUNTY

According to the state's dashboard at 10 a.m. Saturday, there are 69 new positive cases reported in Dubuque County for a total of 928 reported cases. There are 7 additonal recoveries reported for a total of 428. A total of 14,721 people have been tested. There was one additional COVID-19 related deaths in the county, for a total of 23.
