Lawyers for man accused in Iowa pastor’s death ask for change in venue

Joshua Pendleton

Fort Dodge (KWWL) -- The lawyers for the man accused of beating a Fort Dodge pastor to death requested a change of venue for the trial.

Joshua Pendleton's lawyers said they don't believe he would get a fair trial in Webster County.

According to the Des Moines Register, Pendleton's lawyers want the trial moved to Scott County.

A trial scheduling conference is set for July 15.

Pendleton is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in the October 2019 death of Reverend Allen Henderson.

Back in June, a judge ruled Pendleton was competent to stand trial.
