Iowa County reports county’s first COVID-19 death

IOWA COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) — The Iowa County Health Department announced the first COVID-19 death within the county. The person was in the 18 - 40 age range.

“We wish to extend our sympathy to this individual’s family,” said Iowa County Health Department Nurse Administrator Trista Schaffner. “The Iowa County Health Department and all of our key partners throughout the county and state continue to work to limit the spread and impact of this virus in our communities.”

The Iowa County Health Department is asking people to follow all precautions to avoid getting infected and passing the virus onto others. The precautions include washing your hands often, avoid close contact to others, wear a face mask or shield, covering coughs and sneezes and clean surfaces regularly. If you develop symptoms, isolate yourself, call your health care provider and follow their advice.
