Today: Much of the day will be dry, especially in northern Iowa. As we head toward midday and into the afternoon, a system to our south will creep northward, bringing the chance for showers and a few thunderstorms into southern Iowa, mainly south of Cedar Rapids. Otherwise, expect a partly sunny sky with temperatures in the 80s. Dew points in the 70s will make it muggy!Winds will be southeast 10-15 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy and muggy. Lows will be around 70°. There is chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight.
Wednesday: We will be tracking a complex of showers and storms moving in from the west. They will be dissipating as they track in, but the potential is there for some rain through the morning and into the afternoon. By late afternoon it will be partly cloudy, warm and humid with temperatures in the 80s. Winds will be south/southeast 5-15 mph.
Thursday through Independence Day: Just a few pop-up storms possible Thursday, otherwise it’s mainly dry and muggy through July 4th, with temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
