WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) -- The final details have been released regarding the Mayor's annual firework show.
The show is scheduled for July 4 at 10 p.m. in South Waterloo.
Because of social distancing recommendations, this year, the event will not have a main venue, bands or food vendors. Typically, the show is held at the Riverloop Amphitheater and Expo Plaza.
“We selected a location, and have worked with the pyrotechnics to ensure the fireworks will be shot off extra high for maximum viewing throughout South Waterloo," said Main Street Waterloo Director Jessica Rucker. "We encourage you to grab carry-out from your favorite downtown establishment, find a spot and do some old fashioned fireworks tailgating while staying safe and having fun.”
93.5 The Mix is providing music timed to the fireworks. Organizers are asking everyone to stay in their car at all times, observe social distancing, respect private property and remove litter.
“After all we’ve been through, all the cancellations and months of being cooped up, we all could use some fun this Fourth of July,” said Mayor Quentin Hart.
