LINN COUNTY, Iowa. (KWWL) - Linn Manor Care Center, a long-term care facility in Linn County, has recovered from a COVID-19 outbreak.
Recovery is defined as no new cases for two consecutive incubation periods, or 28 days.
The outbreak began affecting the facility in early April.
A total of 38 residents and staff tested positive, 32 individuals recovered and six residents died.
After identifying the outbreak, Linn Manor Care Center implemented measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
This included including limiting visitors, screening staff and residents for symptoms of COVID-19, designating an isolation area for ill residents with dedicated staff, isolating new residents upon admission, and implementing additional infection prevention practices.
