June 26: Iowa passes 700 COVID-19 deaths, almost 500 new cases, 214 more recoveries

(KWWL) -- Seven additional deaths were reported for Iowa from 10 a.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday, according to the state's dashboard. This brings the state's death toll to 701.

There were 493 new, confirmed cases reported Friday which brings the state's total number of cases to 27,555. There were also 214 more recoveries reported for a total of 17,140.

There were 18 patients hospitalized in Iowa in the last 24 hours from 10 a.m. Thursday, compared to 13 yesterday. The total number of hospitalizations is 141, which is 4 more than yesterday. Of those hospitalizations, 42 are in the ICU and 24 are on ventilators.

In Iowa, 6,571 new tests were given for a total of more than 282,013 people that have been tested for COVID-19.
