CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) -- Cedar Rapids Police are investigating after a man was killed in a shooting early Thursday morning.
Officers were called to a report of a fight and shots fired inside a home in the 1000 block of Regent Street NE just after 5 a.m. Officers arrived on the scene and found a 20-year-old man with at least one gunshot wound to the upper body.
First responders rendered first aid and the victim was taken to UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital. The victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigators say early reports indicate there was a large party inside the home, an argument broke out and that's when shots were fired. They say the shooting appears to be a targeted incident.
The victim's name is not being released at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
