(KWWL) Governor Reynolds announced Wednesday she is further relaxing restrictions and allowing businesses to reopen in more capacities.
Effective Friday, June 12 at 8 a.m., the 50 percent capacity limit currently in place for businesses will be lifted. Reynolds said that restaurants, bars and theaters are to continue following 6 feet social distancing requirements.
"Eliminating the capacity restrictions will allow businesses the flexibility to adjust their specific operations accordingly to best meet the needs of their employees and customers," Reynolds said.
Establishments will implement reasonable measures to continue social distancing, increase hygiene practices and other public health measures to reduce COVID-19 transmission risk.
Swimming pools and senior centers can also open under the same guidelines.
"These changes are a result of the positive forward momentum that we're generating in Iowa and we must keep it going," Reynolds said.
