Animal Services seeking information in dog bite incident

IOWA CITY (KWWL) - Animal Services in Iowa City are asking for the public's help in identifying the owner of a dog following an incident this week.

An individual was bitten by a dog around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon near the 400 block of North Van Buren St. The victim was bit while trying to loosen the dog's collar.

Individuals describe the dog as a large German Shepherd named Kiru.

Iowa City Animal Services would like information regarding the dog's rabies vaccination history. Anyone with information should call Animal Services at 319-356-5295 or the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-6800.
