CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) -- City officials in Cedar Rapids say they took a number of messages from citizens regarding stacks of bricks in parts of the city.
It seems as those residents were fearful the bricks were placed by those protesting the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. In a Facebook post, the city says that is not the case. The post read in part:
"These bricks are associated with street light replacement projects that are taking place throughout the downtown, in partnership with Alliant Energy. This project has been underway for a number of months, moving from block to block."City of Cedar Rapids Facebook
The city says those stacks of bricks are being removed.
