NOTE: Planned maintenance to the state's COVID-19 dashboard has finished and numbers are correctly updating in real-time.
IOWA (KWWL) -- The state's coronavirus dashboard shows 16,800 positive cases as of Saturday morning. This could be the last update in numbers until Monday as the site undergoes maintenance until Monday morning.
The number of COVID-19 deaths in Iowa has jumped by 26 to 444.
However, not all those occurred within a 24-hour period. A news release from the state says the latest deaths that were added to the count occurred from May 9 to Friday. It's unclear exactly why those deaths weren't reported until now.
As of today, 123,658 Iowans have been tested, meaning 1 in every 26 Iowans have been tested.
The state website shows accurate counts will not be reported this weekend. All case count numbers will be brought up to date by 6 a.m. Monday.
