WATERLOO(KWWL)--Since he became Columbus head Sotball Coach Chris Olmstead has hung a few Championship banners at the Sailor homefield.
Six straight conference titles and three straight trips to the State Softball tournament.
Olmstead uses vacation time from his full time job to coach softball..so yesterday's announcement was an answer to his prayers.
Chris Olmstead "Absolutely, it makes me feel good that is why I coach is to teach kids but also to the smile on their faces and to see the lightbulb moment when something bd happens but they learn from it that is why I love coaching so much."
Olmstead believes he and his Sailor Softball team will face some big life challenges this summer.
Chris, "At first it will be challenging the first few days there will be an element of chaos involved we will learn from that and make sure we are doing the steps the state requires from the school system and us as coaches--I have great people and great assistants and we will divvy up the responsibilities and make sure we are doing things right and safely…"
