WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) - Multiple events for organizations have been cancelled or postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Epilepsy Foundation Iowa has come up with a creative way to still have their Walks to End Epilepsy. The fundraisers will now be done virtually.
The organization had one scheduled in Waterloo on May 2 and one in Iowa City on June 6. The money made from these fundraisers is how they're able to provide all of their programs and services to the public for free.
"A virtual walk is a set date and time where we all will pledge to walk in support of the Epilepsy Foundation," according to Epilepsy Foundation Iowa. "Instead of walking with us in person, you’ll be walking with us in your own neighborhood, on your treadmill, or wherever you choose."
