Officers led on chase after reports of shots fired

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- The Cedar Rapids Police Department responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the 700 block 2nd Ave SW, Thursday night.

Police were dispatched around 11:00 p.m. and minutes later found a vehicle that witnesses had identified leaving the area.

Officers attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of Williams Blvd and 16th Ave. SW.

The vehicle sped off, leading officers on a pursuit through the west side of town.

Police were able to stop the car near Van Buren Dr. and 31st Ave SW.

The driver fled the scene on foot, but was located by officers. Additional suspects were detained in the suspect's vehicle.

No injuries were reported from the shooting and there were no injuries during the chase.

This is an ongoing investigation.
