IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWWL) — The City of Iowa City is reporting that the Housing Authority Office has been closed to the public due to COVID-19. It is reported that the Office is offering assistance online or by phone.
Housing Authority staff will continue to process needed paperwork, issue rent payments and answer calls. The City has stated that they do not expect any problems to rent payments right now. Please continue to report all changes in income and family composition in writing.
If you need to talk to your caseworker or Housing Authority Staff, please call the ICHA at 319-356-5400. You may also email/call caseworkers and staff directly. Contact information can be found on the Iowa City website.
If paperwork or documentation needs to be dropped off to the ICHA, please email/mail all documentation possible to appropriate ICHA staff. If unsure of your case workers email, you may use email@example.com. Mail can be sent to the Iowa City Housing Authority at 410 E. Washington St., Iowa City, IA 52240. If you are uncomfortable or not able to email or mail sensitive information, the drop box in City Hall is available.
Hy-Vee Foods Stores have copying and Fax services for another option when submitting paperwork. Costs vary per store. The Iowa City Housing Authority Fax number is 319-356-5459. If you need to make a payment to the ICHA, please call 319-356-5400 to make a payment through debit or credit card. You may also mail checks or money orders to the ICHA at 410 E. Washington Street, Iowa City, IA 52240.
The City of Iowa City has stated: please do not send cash for payment through the mail. Cash payments will not be accepted during the closure of City Hall. If you have questions regarding how to make your payment, please call/email ICHA staff directly.
