Daily Digit: 50

Today's Daily Digit is 50. This is the normal high temperature for this time of year. The tables below show how many times each location has reported a temperature warmer than 50 degrees during the month of March. I went back to 2000 only, not since records have kept. The average number of days is between 8.9 and 12.9.

Note: The numbers for this year are through Wednesday.

The last few years have been similar. In 2016, Waterloo had more than half of the days in March warmer than 50 degrees.

The most days Dubuque reported temperatures warmer than 50 degrees, since 2000, was in 2012 with 22 days. That is about 70% of the month.

Not when it comes to the least amount of days of any warm air in Cedar Rapids 2001 tops the list with just three days with the temperature warmer than 50.

No surprise here with Iowa City having the highest average number of days with temperatures warmer than 50. There have been 11 of the last 12 years with double digit days warmer than 50.

The normal high temperature for this time of is now warmer then 50. The normal high temperature doesn't get back down to 50 until the 2nd week of November.
