Waterloo/Cedar Falls Salvation Army’s updated response to COVID-19

WATERLOO/CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KWWL) — The Salvation Army has stated that they are continuing to watch the developments around COVID-19. The organization has taken measures to ensure the health and safety of their officers, staff and those they serve.

Here is a list of the following changes:

  • Noon Lunch Program and Pershable Goods Pantry will be available Tuesday & Thursday from 11:30 am-12:30 pm. Meals will be food boxes/sacks to-go. If driving, go to the back parking lot off Logan Ave. and it will be drive thru.
  • The Youth Center is closed until further notice.
  • Sunday School and Women's Ministries are canceled until further notice. Sunday Worship will be livestreamed through Facebook at 10:45 a.m. and Adult Bible Study will be livestreamed through Facebook on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.
  • Shelters have enabled strict cleaning protocols, with the shelters being sanitized every shift. The Salvation Army has also implemented social distancing procedures with clients.

The Salvation Army administration building on 89 Franklin Street is inaccessible to the public right now. Assistance needs are being done online with case management and via phone. The "All-Purpose Assistant Form" can be found on their website at www.sawaterloo.org and www.facebook.com/sawaterloocf.
