CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. (KWWL) - PepsiCo confirms an employee at their Cedar Rapids manufacturing facility has tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee is being quarantined and receiving medical care.
Individuals who worked closely with the employee have been asked to self-quarantine for 14 days.
As a precaution, certain lines and common areas at the facility have been temporarily closed for deep cleaning.

We can confirm that a PepsiCo employee at our Cedar Rapids, IA Quaker manufacturing facility has tested positive for COVID-19. Consistent with guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other health authorities, the employee is quarantined and receiving medical care. We are unable to disclose additional details around this individual in accordance with privacy laws.
The safety of our products, employees, and community remains our top priority. We have taken all necessary steps to identify and notify individuals who worked closely with the employee and have asked them to self-quarantine for a period of 14 days. As a precautionary measure, we made the decision to temporarily close certain lines and common areas at the Quaker Cedar Rapids facility in order to conduct a deep cleaning of the contacted areas and equipment based on CDC guidelines and using EPA-approved registered products for COVID-19. Currently there is no evidence of food or food packaging being associated with transmission of COVID-19.
