LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) -- Cedar Rapids and Marion are joining a growing list of cities closing their playgrounds and outdoor exercise equipment to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
Parks, trails and dog parks in Cedar Rapids will remain open. Parks and trails in Marion will also stay open. Both cities are urging everyone to follow Centers for Disease Control guidelines when using park facilities.
Those guidelines include maintaining a minimum of 6 feet between you and other park users. Avoid gatherings of 10 or more people. If you have been sick in the last two weeks or have a cough, fever or other flu like symptoms, stay home for your health and the health and safety of others.
Closures in both cities will be in place until further notice.
